MASTIC 2026 - Student Poster Competition

Maritime Safety 5.0: Cutting Edge Technology and Sciences for Enhancing Maritime Safety, Health and Environment

MASTIC 2026 invites undergraduate students to participate in the Student Poster Competition as part of the International Seminar on Maritime Safety and Technology Conference 2026. This poster competition is designed as an academic platform for students to showcase innovative ideas, preliminary research, conceptual design, case studies, and technology-based solutions related to maritime safety, health, and environment. The poster competition is aligned with the conference agenda, which includes keynote panels, parallel sessions, workshops, technical tour, and student poster session.

Poster submissions should be relevant to the main conference theme and its highlighted topics, including but not limited to:

  • Maritime Safety
  • Maritime Transport and Logistics
  • Marine Pollution and Environmental Protection.
  • Marine Renewable Energy.
  • Sustainability in Marine Engineering and Technology.
  • Shipbuilding and Offshore Structure.
  • Marine Policy, Education and Training for QHSE Improvement.
  • Artificial Intelligence.
  • Robotics in Marine.
  • Maritime Big Data.
  • Machine Learning.
  • Sustainable Fuel.
  • New Approach on Safety Assessment.
  • Abandonment and Site Restoration.
  • Human Factors.
  • This competition is open to S1/undergraduate students only. Participants may submit individually or in teams. Unlike oral presentations, poster participants are not required to attend the conference in person. Accepted posters will be displayed during the poster session at MASTIC 2026 and evaluated by the jury on site. Since the assessment may be conducted directly based on the displayed poster, winners are not required to be physically present to be eligible for awards.

    Poster Submission Scheme

    1. Poster Only - Free Registration

    Participants may submit a poster without any obligation to attend the conference. Accommodation, transportation, and other personal expenses shall be fully borne by the participant.

    2. Poster and Conference Attendance

    The cost for poster submission and conference attendance will be covered by the participants, as these are optional.

    Certification

    Receive an official certificate of participation from MASTIC.

Rules & Eligibility

Please ensure you meet all requirements before submitting.

  • Participants: Must be active undergraduate students (Bachelor/Diploma) from any university worldwide.
  • Team Size: Participation can be individual or in a team of up to 3 students.
  • One Entry: Each team/individual may submit only one poster entry.
  • Topic Alignment: The poster content must align with one of the MASTIC 2026 conference topics (Safety, Security, Health, Environment, or Technology).
  • Originality: The work must be original and not previously published or awarded in other competitions.

Poster Specifications

Submissions that do not follow these formatting rules will be disqualified.

Format & Dimensions

  • Size: A2 (594 x 420 mm).
  • Orientation: Portrait (Vertical).
  • File Format: PDF (High Resolution) and JPG/PNG for web display.
  • Language: English.
  • Design:Free design, while complying with the official poster identity requirements from the committee

Content Requirements

Your poster must clearly display:

  • Poster Title.
  • Author(s) name.
  • Institution/university.
  • Corresponding author email.
  • Background/introduction.
  • Objective.
  • Method/approach/concept.
  • Main findings or proposed idea.
  • Conclusion.
  • References (QR code is acceptable to save space).

Mandatory Identity Elements

Each poster must include:

  • MASTIC 2026 logo/header
  • Official conference identity.
  • Author affiliation.
  • Poster topic/category.
  • Poster format attached. The relevant logo/header files will be provided to participants via a shared drive.

Judging Criteria

Our panel of judges will evaluate submissions based on the following:

Content (40%)

Clarity of research, depth of analysis, and relevance to maritime safety themes.

Visuals (30%)

Design aesthetics, layout balance, use of charts/graphs, and readability.

Innovation (30%)

Novelty of the idea and creative approach to problem-solving.
